Most village folks are self sufficient as far as the essentials are concerned. Little money is used in everyday transactions. Bartering is still alive and working well among these simple folks. How ever modern culture is slowly creeping into the villages. There are more and more young people leaving their traditional lively hoods and are moving to the comforts of the cities with running water, and refrigerators. The traditional sarong among the men is getting to be a rarity, and the all too common western clothes are taking over.
