Demonstrations in the final year
- Medicine clerkship - Four months (2 two-month appointments) in general
medicine and short-term clerkships in medical specialities. Two months
of attachment to the Professorial Medical Unit in the final year
- Assessment - Written (2 papers) examination, a viva voce and
a clinical examination consists of one 'long case' and three 'short cases'
at the end of the final year.
- An integrated, learner-centered curriculum designed to promote self-learning
was commenced in September 1995. Students are exposed to clinical medicine
from the first year on-wards. The Department of Clinical Medicine participates
in the teaching program of clnical, behavioural, community and applied
scicences streams in this curriculum.
- MD Medicine: The Department of Clinical Medicine offers trainee clinical
Registrar and Senior Registrar for the MD Medicine program conducted by
the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine. Examination-oriented
training courses for MD Part I and II are also arranged by the academic
staff.
