My Name is Chanuka Wattegama. I am an Electronics Engineer by profession. At present I work for Supreme Group of Companies, Colombo. My work mainly, consists of looking after the four computer networks the Company has. Three of them are installed at our head office at Maradana and one at Supreme Printers, Peliyagoda. Out of these two networks are based on Novell Netware Network 3.12 operating system. One is based on Windows NT 4.0 and the other one Apple Talk. Because of this I am familiar with multi platform software applications.
If you are interested in my personal details, I am in the late twenties age group and male. I studied at Asoka Junior school and Ananda College, Colombo. Though I was selected to the University of Moratuwa, I could not countinue my studies there, due to the indefinite closure of all the Sri Lankan universities some where around 1987. I was selected to the Karanataka Regional College, Mangalore, India and I left the island in 1989. After four years of studing there, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics in 1993 with a first class. After coming to the island I worked at Keell Business Systems before joining this company.
Though I am an Engineer by profession I am more famous as either a journalist or a writer in Sri Lanka. I write in both English and Sinhalese. The nuber of my works published so far, exceeds 700 and they were published in more than 25 different publications. I also received the Award for the best science writer in 1988. This was given by the Sri Lanka Association of the Advancement of Science.
