To the Sri Lanka Medical Council & Others in the Medical Fraternity Dear Sir A Few Bad Eggs Bring Shame on the Medical Community We have lately seen a huge spate of bogus medical certificates being issued to former VIPs and alleged murderers to prevent them from appearing before judges or from enjoying the fruits of their labour (a.k.a thuggery) by spending time in remand. Some even get VIP treatment in jail on the basis of more bogus medical certificates. When inspected by an honest doctor such as the JMO, it is found there is nothing wrong with these murder suspects. Hence, why does not the Sri Lanka Medical Council strike off the crooked doctors who issue such bogus medical certificates? They are a blight on an otherwise noble profession. When they should be saving lives they are colluding with murder suspects. L. Boteju
