Dr. Hussainmiya's Home Page

I am Bachamiya Abdul HUSSAINMIYA (51 Years), currently a Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Brunei Darussalam. A Sri Lankan Born Malay, I graduated from the University of Peradeniya, and received post-graduate training in Monash University, Australia. I teach mainly South Asian and Brunei History (among other topics) in UBD, and my main interest currently is modern History of Brunei. My book " Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin & Britain: The Making of Brunei Darussalam, Oxford University Press, Kuala Lumpur appeared in 1995. Besides I have written extensively on the Malay Minority Community of Sri Lanka, and especially about the Community's involvement in enlivening the Classical Malay Literature during the 19th and early 20th centuries. I would like to exchange views and information on these subjects with other interested persons.
