3/4 lbs. corriander seeds 1/4 lb. cummin seeds 2 ozs. dried ginger 1 oz. cloves 1 oz. roots of belli plant (belimul) 1/2 oz. thippili (available in Sri Lankan herbal stores) 1/8 oz. of stems of curry leaves (karapincha)
Method: Roast each kind separately till it gets slightly dark. Put all roasted ingredients in a coffee grinder and grinds them very fine.
Add 1 cup of boiling water to 1 teaspoonful of peyawa powder. Cover it and allow it to get brewd for about 5 - 8 minutes. Strain and add sugar to taste.
This is a herbal, medicinal drink, ideal for coughs and colds. In cold countries you can enjoy this drink on very cold days in Winter.
