Lentil Mash (Tuwar dal)
Ingredients: Soak dal in water for an hour. Add turmeric powder, salt and a drop of oil to the dal in water and boil on low flame till it is fully cooked.
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger and curry leaves. Add tomato, asafetida, a few curry leaves and continue to cook. Fry for one minute. Add this to dal and let it simmer. Add lemon, juggery, and chillies.
Continue to simmer for 10 minutes.
