1 kilo of fish chops(2 pounds) 3 tablespoons of chillie powder half a cup tamarind pulp pinch of salt and tumeric 1 teaspoon of black pepper 2 tsp cumin powder(suduru kudu) 1 cup of water
Method:
Wash and pat dry the fish chops.
Add tamarind pulp, salt, saffron and black pepper to the cup of water and mix well.
Dip the fish in the paste and leave it aside for 10 minutes. Place the fish in a baking tray and sprinkle a little cumin over. Bake in 250 gas mark for 20 minutes and then in a moderate oven until the fish is tender and done.
If you need you can add a bit of yoghurt into the gravy to make a thick gravy which can be later pour over the fish.
