Welcome one and all to the"Sri Lanka Sindhi Homepage". Here we will tell you as much as we can about our Sindhi Culture and also of all that is happening with the Sindhi Community in Sri Lanka. This Home Page is only a "humble attempt" to represent the Sindhi Community of Sri Lanka on the World Wide Web/ Internet. We do hope that this site would be visited from Sindhis & Friends from all over the world far and wide, and open the opportuity for meaningful interaction of such people and peoples from far reaching corners of the world. We have divided this web page into many sections, do visit them all, and please feel free to send us emails if necessary from below this page. Basically there are 3 important organizations that make up the Sri Lanka Sindhi Administratiive Body (1) The Sindhi Merchants Association
There are also 2 more organizations under their purview;
In a nutshell, "The Sindhi Merchants Association" is the most Senior body, which is responsible for the overall smooth administration of community which operates by guiding the members on commercial matters, settling differences and disputes, and advising its members on economic developments that influence general business. The "Sindhi Community Center" maintains the CLUB HOUSE in Colombo 3 and organises functions like Religious Ceremonies, Socials & Seasonal Get-To-Gethers, and most important manages the Sindhi Temple and Sai Baba Temple as well. It also manages a fully serviced Air-Conditioned "Function Room", complete with a well stocked Bar, and a highly efficient catering and banquet service, that can handle upto about 200 guests per occassion.
