SOME OFFICIALS SPY (99 Jan 13)
According to the "Sunday Divaina" some officials in the government sector in Yapanaya have been spying for the LTTE. Apparently these officials have on certain occasions tried to sabotage government activities in the Yapanaya district.
These officials, the newspaper claims,had been working for the LTTE before the Rivirasa operation and have helped the LTTE to train their so-called officers.
The "Sunday Divaina" of January 10th further claims that they have passed information on very important discussions to the LTTE.
It is essential that an enquiry is held into these allegations and suitable action is taken. Covering up activities of these officials in the name of human rights will be a threat to the country.
