The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Seoul participated at the 2013 SIWA & Diplomatic Bazaar which was recently held in Seoul.

The SIWA & Diplomatic Bazaar, organized by the Seoul International Women's Association (SIWA), is one of the leading fundraising events with a history of more than 30 years. This annual Bazaar attracts a large number of Korean visitors and foreign expatriates living in Seoul. Organizations and over 50 Embassies attend the event to share their culture, food and festivities and to ultimately, raise funds to support charities.

As a participant of the Bazaar, the Embassy of Sri Lanka occupied a festively decorated stall which showcased traditional Sri Lankan handicrafts and the renowned and flavourful Ceylon tea. The crowds which gathered at the stall to experience a little piece of Sri Lanka indicate the demand and popularity that exists among visitors for Sri Lankan tea and other merchandise.

The Embassy experienced a successful day at the Bazaar. In addition to the support of a good cause, this event helped to create a stronger platform for Sri Lanka because it gave a large number of Koreans and expatriates residing in Seoula taste of Sri Lanka and the potential opportunity to further explore the country and culture.
