Former Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya will be the prime attraction on the Season 5 of "Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa," the celebrity dance reality show on Indian television.

The show starts airing on June 4. It is shifting from Sony Entertainment Television to Colors.

The swashbuckling Sri Lankan World Cup-winning cricketer will appear with Bollywood celebrities such as Rekha, Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar, and Remo D'Souza.

Reports in the media here suggest that the cricketer is being paid a hefty sum to shake a leg on the show.

Jayasuriya has no experience in either music or dance. However, in a recently shot promo for the show, he shows he has the rhythm as he jiggles with pretty girls, dressed in a white shirt, white trousers, a white hat, a golden jacket and golden shoes.

A source from the sets said: "Sanath is extremely enthusiastic about his avatar as a dancer. He has been regularly rehearsing on the sets. He was very flexible and willing to learn while shooting a promo for the show. He is open to experiment."

Jayasuriya, 42, retired from Test cricket in 2003, and has lately been busy with politics. He is said to be inspired by Rajnikanth's style of dancing, and will try to bring alive the Tamil superstar's moves on the dance floor.

On the show, he will be partnering a mentor-choreographer, whose name is yet to be revealed.

The show is an Indian version of international dance reality shows. In the past, several sportspersons have participated in it.
