‘SLMC development project proposals rejected’

Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa has turned down all the development project proposals submitted at the Amparai District Development Committee meeting by parliamentarian M.T. Hassan Ali, the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, a constituent party of the ruling UPFA.

The Amparai District Development Committee meeting presided over by the Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa was held at the Amparai District Secretariat on Tuesday.

Hassan Ali presented nine proposals on development projects only to be rejected by Minister Rajapaksa.

When M.T. Jabar Ali brother and private secretary of Hassan Ali who is a member of the Ninthavur Pradeshiya Sabha stood up and started to speak over the project proposal presented by Hassan Ali, the Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa interjected to dismiss all nine proposals. Minister Rajapaksa had separate discussions with representatives of people from Amparai, Kalmunai, Sammanthurai and Poththuvil after this committee meeting where the development project proposals were rejected.

Minister A.L.M. Athaulla and Parliamentarians from the Digamadulla district, Sarath Weerasekara, H.M.M. Harees, Faizal Hassim and P.H. Piyasena also participated in the committee meeting.
