The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) yesterday filed two additional charges in court against the disabled army captain, who was a supporter of the former army commander, General Sarath Fonseka on the ground that he prevented prison officials from carrying out their duties when Mr. Fonseka was being taken for treatment to the private hospital on July 21.

When the case was taken up before the Colombo Fort Magistrate Ms. Lanka Jayaratne on Friday (25), the CCD filed two charges against captain Gayan Prasad Kumara Vithanage. Accordingly, two charges were filed against him on the allegation of obstructing prisons officers from carrying out their duties and use of criminal force to deter them from discharging their duties.
