Exodus of Govt. family members?

Family members of government ministers have left the country or are in the process of leaving the country ahead of the January 26th presidential polls, parliament was told yesterday.
UNP Badulla district MP Lakshman Seneviratne told parliament yesterday that the daughter of one minister had already left the country, while the wife of another was due to leave on Wednesday. "We understand that many have booked tickets to leave the country", MP Seneviratne said. He was speaking during the debate on the extensions of the emergency. As the popularity of common candidate of the opposition General (Retd.) Sarath Fonseka increases, the government politicians are leaving the country as they too are convinced of inevitable loss of the government candidate in the forthcoming election, he said.
