Swarnapali Balika Vidyalaya held its prize giving with students for their excellence and progress in many subjects and extra curricular activities. President Rajapaksa participated the ceremony organised by this rural school as the chief guest and surprised the gathering. Prizes were presented by the President and he later addressed the students and offered words of encouragement and advice. He asked students to become great citizens with proper behavior. Large number of students, school staff, and parents were participated.

Among the distinguished guests at the Sunday’s ceremony which was held at the school premises were Minister Thissa Karaliyaddha, Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake, Governor of North Central Province Karunarathne Divulgane, Minister Duminda Dissanayake, representatives from the Regional Educational Division and the Principle of the school, Inoka Dharmasiri.
