The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Sri Lanka has produced four world prize winners in the November 2004 examination.
The world prize winners were Mrs. M. Thushari Gunathilake for Finance, Mr. K. J. N. C. P. Jayasuriya for Business Taxation, Mr. H. M. Thilina Thisara for Financial Reporting (UK Standards) and Mr. Thiwanka R. Hewage for Management Accounting Performance Management.
The CIMA Sri Lanka Divisional President Claude Perera met the four prize winners to personally congratulate them on their creditable achievement. These candidates will receive their awards at the forthcoming CIMA Convocation on March 10 2005.
CIMA is one of the world's largest professional accounting bodies focused solely on the training of accountants in business both in the 'private and public sectors.
Over 34,000 students sat the November examinations in over 150 examination centres worldwide illustrating CIMA's recognition as a leading global brand and the most relevant qualification for finance and financial analyst staff.
According to recent surveys, the CIMA qualification continues to be viewed by employers as the 'gold standard' and first choice for the training of professional accountants in business.
