A nation’s failing duty to protect its elephants

It is a story that repeats itself with tragic regularity across Sri Lanka’s landscape, which was once celebrated for the gentle coexistence between human and elephant, now marred by negligence, bureaucracy, and the slow death of compassion. The recent hearing before the Supreme Court, initiated by the Centre for Environmental Justice (CEJ),

Systems Change, Why and How
Nov 1 (CT) It is immaterial that, since coming to power, neither Prez Anura Kumara Dissanayake, nor any of his colleagues in the ruling JVP-NPP combine, has talked about the undefined systems change that they mouthed, especially between Aragalaya 2022 and the twin elections last year. Good will it be for the Nation if they leave it at that. It is not unlikely that the JVP masterminds, post-mainstreaming, circa 2024, have finally concluded that not all slogans are for enforcement.
