Telecommunications levy increased from midnight today

Jun 3 (AD) Telecom levy will be increased with effect from midnight today (3), Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRCSL). Thereby, the tax will go up from 11.25% to 15%, resulting in a hike in call charges as well. TRCSL also stated that the telephone tariffs will move up by approximately 8% due to the increase in the VAT from 8% to 12%.
