China ratifies extradition treaty with SL |
Aug 26 (Xinhua) China's top legislature on Monday approved an extradition treaty with Sri Lanka. The 22-article extradition treaty covers issues such as extradition obligations, offenses eligible for extradition, reasons that can and should be used to refuse extradition, and the settlement of disputes. Aug 26 (NF) A 32-year-old Sri Lankan has been shot dead in Oakland, USA on Tuesday (20) night. The deceased who has been identified as Janath Liyanage was shot about 11:13 p.m. on Tuesday in the 600 block of 20th Street between Rashida Muhammad Street and San Pablo Avenue. Police said he died at a hospital at 1:01 a.m. Wednesday. Govt revenue slumps 4% in 1H19 |
Aug 27 (CT) Govt revenue during the first six months of this year declined 4%, according to data released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka while State expenditure and lending widened 10.9%. The Central Bank pointed out that during the first half of 2019 ended June, Govt revenue reached Rs 888 billion, down 4 per cent compared to Rs 925.7 billion recorded a year earlier.
